Walking and getting away from it all.

Polzeath is located on the outstanding North Cornwall Heritage coastline. A few minutes walk takes you onto the cliffs and the coastal path .

Towards Daymer Bay, favourite of John Betchamen, with St Enodoc church where he is buried and onto Rock, with its sailing, boating, water skiing etc, and the foot passenger ferry to Padstow.

From here the coastal path continues to Trevose head and on to Lands End. Padstow is an interesting fishing port with good eating places( including Rick Stein's take away).

This is the start of the Saints Way coast to coast path to Fowey, which is easily done in sections. It is also the start of a converted railway line, the Camel trail and you can walk this or hire bikes.

The opposite direction across the beach takes you towards New Polzeath, and National Trust land where you can walk as far as you wish to places such as Port Isaac (return by bus if you feel tired). This is an important area for wildlife, for example oyster catchers, and you can often see dolphins or seals . Along the coastal path it is possible to find many secluded and picturesque beaches.
